Beginning of works on the new civil engineering project in Metković

The works related to the 338.001.831,78 kuna worth civil project “Construction of the water sewage system of the Metković agglomeration and the reconstruction of the water supply network” have officially begun.

CER, which was the consultant to the company COMSA S.A. for the preparation and analysis of the public procurement and prepared the offer that eventually won the public tender has signed the partnership contract with COMSA.

CER actively participates in the carrying out of this important project which at the moment is one of the biggest in the Dubrovnik-neretva region.

The works have begun in May and are in full flow at the moment. All has begun in Splitska street on the new access track of the road. Immediately after that, the pipeline is going to be laid down, and the preparation works are being carried out for the protection of pumping station pits. For the next months the excavation works for three more locations are being planned.

By the end of the project, there are planned to be:

  • 1745 new household connections, and 2326 existing ports’ new connections to the drainage network
  • New connections of 1340 households’ ports to the water supply system
  • Design and construction of the sewage sludge treatment plant in Metković and the solar sludge drying plant

The project has a historic importance for the local people of Metković because thanks to it every household will have access to the sewage system and a better water supply.
